Most beginners quit in the first month

Not because they are unfit or uncoordinated, but because nobody told them what to expect. Every time I took up a new art, I started again at the back of the class as a beginner. These seven tips are what I have learned from that side of the mat:

  1. Choose the instructor, not the style.
  2. Try three classes before you decide.
  3. You don't need to get fit first.
  4. Leave your ego at the door.
  5. Tap early, tap often.
  6. Buy kit slowly.
  7. Aim for consistency, not perfection.

The free guide explains each one, with a simple action to take before your first night.
